What does Beam AI do?
Beam AI automates material takeoffs from construction plans for trade contractors. It covers trades such as MEP, utilities, concrete, steel, earthwork and roofing. Contractors can run their own AI takeoffs with in-platform estimates, or get bid-ready, QA-checked takeoffs done for them, with Excel estimates to plug into their estimating software.

Beam AI says it serves construction and home services. Beam AI doesn't state any security or compliance standard.

Who is Beam AI for, and what's the catch?
Suits a specialty contractor who wants to bid more work in one trade without doing every takeoff by hand. The done-for-you option sends back bid-ready, QA-checked quantities.
The catch: the do-it-yourself plan starts at $8K for an annual license per trade, so each trade has its own license, and no trial is stated. Civils.ai has a Starter plan at $90 a month, billed monthly.

Other AI takeoff software to compare with Beam AI are Civils.ai (from $90 per month), Mirage Metrics (from $1,000 per month, billed annually) and Trimble Estimation MEP (from $1,950 per user per year, billed annually).
